A physician, policy expert, and champion of health care entrepreneurship and the opportunities enabled by innovation in medical care, he has held senior positions at the FDA and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. In his most recent government role, he served as the FDA's Deputy Commissioner for Medical and Scientific Affairs. He has been a member of NEA's healthcare investing team since leaving the FDA in 2007.
