Gold prices fell by Rs 90 to Rs 30,250 per 10 grams at the bullion market today owing to tepid demand from local jewellers even as the precious metal strengthened overseas. However, silver held steady at Rs 38,000 per kg on scattered enquiries from industrial units and coin makers. Marketmen attributed the slide in gold prices to easing demand from local jewellers and retailers in the domestic spot market but a firm trend overseas capped the fall.
