It’s a big day in venture capital investment news: Ahmed Al Mosa, who built and leads the venture capital program for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, will leave one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds after 21 years to start his own new venture firm.

 

While little is known, as yet, about Al Mosa’s next endeavor, the global outlook of ADIA’s venture investments suggests that the firm will build on his ties to entrepreneurs. In any case, Al Mosa’s venture is sure to attract some of the biggest names in VC investment, given his close ties to Silicon Valley and trusted relationships with some of the industry’s titanic entrepreneurs.
