As energy markets move to integrate more and more intermittent resources, Dr Gil is leading an international research consortia focused on improving the technology used in energy markets, in such areas as: providing a predictive weather service, creating a more responsive transmission grid, and stablising the use of renewable energy sources. In this address he provided listeners with an insight into the work undertaken by the SERI in its mission to create the utility of the future.
