Property values for this particular segment of real estate have reached all-time highs after eight years of steady gains, and sales of commercial real estate have slowed sharply as of late. In addition, the number of Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) insured institutions with potentially troubling concentrations of risk has been on the rise.
