It has the potential to unlock vast pools of assets in the future. : While U.S. environmental policy is at a standstill under the Trump Administration, cities like New York and San Francisco are stepping up to embrace a low-carbon future by divesting their pension funds from fossil fuels. These commitments will, no doubt, have a significant impact in the fight against climate change. But alone, they are not enough.
