2016 saw Australian VC firms raising $568 million from superannuation funds, family offices, foundations, endowments and other institutions,  according to the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCAL).2016 also saw the inception of the largest fund in Australia to date, when Airtree Ventures closed a $250 million fund.
