Reporting to the CIO the Portfolio Manager has overall responsibility for more than one major asset class.  Developing investment policies and directing asset management activities of major areas is a core focus.  The Portfolio Manager serves on the investment committee as well as the investment policy committee.  A key distinction at Arizona PSPRS is that Portfolio Managers will rotate through many different asset classes such that experience in, and a willingness to work, in multiple asset classes is a must. They manage relationships with external advisors and fund managers and represent the PSPRS Trust on necessary Advisory Boards.  The Portfolio Manager leads evaluation and selection of external managers, direct investments and co-investments, including legal negotiations, and prepares investment memos.  The Portfolio Manager guides the Trust’s research activities within areas of responsibility and regularly presents to the Board of Trustees.
