Oberlin College’s Investment Office is in search of an energetic, creative, professional and driven individual to assume the role of Director of Investments. The Investment Office is responsible for managing the institution’s endowment and other long-term financial assets through the application of a total return framework intended to maximize long-term, risk-adjusted returns. The current investment portfolio consists of allocations to top-tier, global investment management firms, with an emphasis on alternative strategies and private investments. Oberlin College maintains high expectations for the investments managed by the Investment Office, which results in a challenging, intellectually stimulating, and performance-driven environment. The successful candidate for the Director of Investments position will be expected to contribute immediately to the continued development of the investment program at Oberlin College.
As a key member of the investment team, the Director of Investments will collaborate with the Chief Investment Officer in identifying and assessing new opportunities as well as monitoring existing investments held in the Endowment. The Investment Office employs a generalist model and as such the Director of Investments will be responsible for public and private investments across all asset classes. In addition, this individual is expected to provide mentoring to other members of the team and leadership to the Investment Office generally. Finally, the Director of Investments will serve as the primary on-campus contact for the broader Oberlin community and other senior members of the Oberlin College administration.
