Performs complex (journey-level) data collection and data analysis work. Work involves collecting, processing, automating, auditing, reconciling, and analyzing quantitative and fundamental investment data, and supporting the development of improvements in analytic techniques and capabilities. Additional duties include providing assistance in data entry and managing the ongoing development of the investment research management system (IRMS). Works under moderate supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Automates, audits, and reconciles collection of data provided from various sources, including consulting or coordinating with custodian, consultants, data providers, and third-party contractors. 
  • Develops, maintains, and improves reports and tools to standardize data received from various sources, including querying databases. Support the structuring of data sets to support other predictive analytics/modeling efforts. 
  • Identifies and interprets patterns and trends, assesses data quality and eliminates irrelevant data. Supports the development of improvements in analytic techniques and capabilities. 
  • Assists Investment staff with data acquisition, reconciliation, and normalization. Contributes to preparation and validation of reports prepared for external constituents. Represents TTSTC with the highest integrity, ethics and professionalism. Performs related work as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline (Business Administration, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Econometrics, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Computer Science). Complete copies of college transcripts must be furnished to the divisional hiring representative at the time of the interview for positions requiring a college degree, and/or specific educational credits

Minimum Experience:
Investment Analyst I
One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience (1000 hours total) transforming and analyzing data for use in business decisions.
One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience (1000 hours total) analyzing data using Excel including advanced functions (e.g. index/match, vlookup, sumifs, linest, logical functions, array functions, etc.)

  • SQL/Database Management
  • VBA
  • Matlab
  • Statistical Packages (SAS, Stata, R, Gauss)
  • Programming and Data Tools (VBA, C++, C#, Python, Java, Java Script, HTML, .NET, Hadoop, Hive, Pig)
