The University of Cambridge is one of the world's oldest universities and leading academic centres. Its reputation for outstanding academic achievement is known world-wide and reflects the intellectual achievement of its students, as well as the world-class original research carried out by the staff of the University and the Colleges. The success of the Investment Office in managing the investments of the University is critical to supporting and maintaining the University's national and international standing in a globally competitive Higher Education sector.

In this challenging yet rewarding role, the Chief Investment Officer has a unique opportunity to continue to build a significant legacy for, and to have an enormous impact on, the University. Through the development and implementation of an investment strategy, the University of Cambridge will look to you to deliver above average long-term performance of the University's investment assets, generating sustainable investment income and growth and encouraging further philanthropic giving to the University. You will be a key part of the active and ongoing debate around the contribution of investment strategy towards meeting the University's wider social and environmental goals. Setting the baseline and constructively engaging with key stakeholders, the Chief Investment Officer will help to drive, lead and shape the agenda and will be a willing and empathetic contributor to this important debate.

You will join the University of Cambridge with considerable experience and success in a senior position of the investment sector, with a current and consistently strong investment track record.  Intellectually curious and open-minded, you will be a leading expert on matters related to the CUEF portfolio, investment portfolio theory and quantitative techniques, with the ability to analyse and creatively solve complex issues. The ability to understand and respond to the views of others, along with a track record of forming and maintaining a multitude of professional relationships with investors and key stakeholders at the most senior levels, will be essential to your success.
