The Marketable Alternatives team currently oversees over $10 billion in external hedge fund investments globally. The Marketable Alternatives Analyst will be responsible for assisting the team with quantitative and qualitative analysis and research to help monitor current investments, evaluate potential investment opportunities, and execute on specific projects. Broad responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and monitor reports on external hedge fund manager performance, exposures, and holdings
- Assist with and participate in regular reviews of the portfolio, including analysis of the portfolio’s performance and risk characteristics
- Assist in researching and analyzing existing and prospective managers
- Maintain current knowledge of the hedge fund industry and global capital markets by monitoring current financial publications, as well as leveraging personal contacts with outside research/industry professionals
- Provide general support to team members on various projects. Conduct ad hoc projects as necessary
Requirement:
- 1-3 years prior work experience in an investment-related field preferred
- Major or significant coursework in finance or accounting preferred
- Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills are essential to success in this role
- Knowledge and understanding of financial software applications (e.g., Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel) is a plus
- Team player possessing intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, thoughtfulness and attention to detail
