The individual will join our Alpha Investment Research team and be a key contributor. The role offers significant client interface and exposure to investment professionals both inside and outside the company. This is an opportunity to influence and to build/expand professional skills and abilities through exposure to a broad range of responsibilities. Candidates will be considered in the Darien, New York or Chicago offices.

The Role:
The Director will focus primarily on manager research in illiquid alternative asset classes to include closed-end funds in private equity, real estate, distressed credit, lending, infrastructure, timber, oil and gas, etc. This position will be responsible for assuming a role in our illiquid alternative investment research process that includes sourcing of best-in-class investment ideas, manager due diligence and evaluation, portfolio construction advice, and serving in a client-facing role in collaboration with our consultants and senior management. The Director will also assume a key role on various workflow committees, and be expected to provide thought leadership that would include active participation at industry conferences and firm sponsored client events. 

The Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in business, finance, or mathematics. Minimum of 7-10 years of alternative investment-related work experience within consulting, plan sponsor and/or asset management environments. CFA or CAIA professional credential(s) preferred. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. In addition, the role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines. This position requires periodic travel.
