FIRM OVERVIEW  

B1 Capital Partners, is a newly formed, investment focused family office located in Lake Forest, Illinois.   The office was founded by a senior team of investment professionals averaging 18 years of experience; several of whom have worked together for over seven years.  The team collectively has managed over $10 billion in capital across all asset classes globally, with particular expertise is alternative investments (hedge funds, private equity, co-investments, direct investments, etc.).
   
POSITION OVERVIEW  

The Analyst is generally responsible for providing analytical support to the broader investment team.   The Analyst’s primary responsibilities include interfacing with custodian(s) and investment managers to collect all the data necessary for the preparation of asset allocation, risk and investment performance reports.  The Analyst also assists in conducting capital market, asset allocation and investment manager research and due diligence.
   
RESPONSIBILITIES  
 
  • Works with the investment team to managing a large institutional investment portfolio with significant exposure to alternative investments
  • Assist in the preparation of portfolio accountings, including investment performance, asset allocation and risk reports
  • Assist in capital markets research and developing asset allocation recommendations
  • In conjunction with senior team members, research and conduct due diligence on investment managers, co-investments and investment strategies
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models for analyzing the investment portfolio and its risk and cash flow profiles
  • Closely monitor financial press and keep track of market trends, opportunities, risks and new investment products
  • Liaise with fund managers and network with industry professionals
   
QUALIFICATION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS  
 
  • The candidate must have a genuine passion for investing and an interest in portfolio management
  • The ability to deliver high-quality work in a timely fashion with limited supervisory oversight
  • A self-confident professional who recognizes the value of collaboration and team work
  • Strong math skills; excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to allow the candidate to successfully interface with external service providers and other members of the investment team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills necessary for the preparation and delivery of investment analysis and recommendations
  • Significant experience with MS Excel, Outlook and Power Point; exposure to investment analysis software (e.g., Bloomberg, Burgiss, Capital IQ, etc.) preferred
